Meet the GVC Staff
At Gambrills Veterinary Center, our team is made up of dedicated animal lovers who are passionate about providing exceptional care for every pet who walks through our doors. With decades of experience serving the community, we combine professional expertise with genuine compassion to ensure pets and their families feel comfortable, supported, and cared for. As pet people ourselves, we're committed to building lasting relationships and delivering the personalized attention every patient deserves.

Jason Illya Orenstein DVM, MBA
Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Orenstein graduated Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. He also received his Masters degree from the Pamplin School of Business in 1999. Dr. Orenstein has a strong background in medicine, surgery, and exotics. Upon graduation he worked several years in private practice and in emergency medicine.
In 2006, he designed and built Gambrills Veterinary Center.
In a field where medical and surgical techniques always advance, Dr. Orenstein averages over 70 credits of continuing education yearly in order to stay abreast of the latest developments. He has advanced training in soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, dentistry, and avian reptile medicine.
Dr. Orenstein is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), VHMA (Veterinary Hospital Managers Association), and AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association).
Ari Orenstein
Practice Manager
Ari earned his MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus. For the last 7 years, Ari has been honing his management skills and helping to ensure that every day runs smoothly. Outside of the animal hospital, Ari stays busy with his 4-year-old daughter and his 5-year-old Pomsky, Alpha. When he has some free time, you’ll likely find him rock climbing or biking, he’s always up for a little adventure.


Jennifer Szymanski
Office Manager
Jennifer graduated from Appalachian State University in 2000, majoring in Business Management. She has always loved animals and the outdoors. She spends her free time with her children and pets. They enjoy kayaking and hiking with their 2 dogs. She also occasionally does rescue, volunteer, and service work. Mrs. Szymanski enjoys being surrounded by animals and is a true nurturer and caregiver at heart!
Leah A.
Veterinary Technician
Leah brings over 10 years of experience as a veterinary technician to our team. Her passion for animal care is matched only by the energy she brings to the clinic. At home, Leah stays on her toes with her 5-year-old son, her Border Collie named Bullet, and her Jack Russell Terrier named Cruz. When summer rolls around, you can find her out on the field playing softball, her favorite way to unwind and stay active.


Sam A.
Veterinary Technician
Sam has been a valued part of our team for the past 5 years. He currently attends Anne Arundel Community College and enjoys spending time with his Great Dane, Sadie. Outside of work, Sam keeps active by hitting the gym and playing hockey in a local recreational league.
Natalie N.
Veterinary Technician
Over the last year and a half, Natalie has worked with us whenever she was home from school, beginning as a pet care provider before transitioning into a technician role. Natalie earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Science from Virginia Tech this past May! Outside of the animal hospital, Natalie enjoys spending time with her 3-year-old Corgi, Kobe. She also loves cooking, baking, arts and crafts, and spending time with friends.


Infinity T.
Veterinary Technician
Beginning as a veterinary CSR over 3 years ago, Infinity has worked her way up to being a veterinary technician. She has a dog, Momo, a 4-year-old pit bull. Infinity also likes painting, crime television, and socializing.
Karri H.
Receptionist
Karri has been working as a veterinary receptionist for over 10 years. As a pet lover, Karri knew that her future after high school would revolve around animals. She has a dog named Ayla, and two cats named Ziggy and Whiskey. In her free time, Karri loves hiking and camping with her dog.


Julia B.
CSR
Currently on a break from North Carolina State University, Julia is our newest CSR and hopes to enroll in veterinary school in the near future! She has a 3-year-old pup named Ferris and loves spending time at the beach and creating artwork for our clients to enjoy.

Jennifer D.
Pet Stylist
Jennifer has been grooming for over 10 years and brings a wealth of experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, and even guinea pigs. A devoted animal lover, her home is full of life with 6 dogs, 1 cat, 10 snakes, and 4 guinea pigs. When she’s not grooming, Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her husband, three kids, and her beloved animal crew.


Gavin W.
Certified Dog Trainer
Gavin has always been passionate about animals. He has been working with us for over 5 years and has extensive experience in kennels. His love of pets started with his Pit Bull, Bella, and his cat, Annie. When he is not working in the kennel, Gavin is also training dogs. A graduate of the Animal Behavior College, Gavin is a licensed obedience trainer and is excited to train your dogs!
Zemira Orenstein
Veterinary Student
Zemira grew up at Gambrills Veterinary Center and has more experience than many technicians twice her age! After earning her B.S. in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park, she began veterinary school at Ross University in the Caribbean. In just a few years, Zemira will return to GVC as one of our doctors, but until then, we'll be cheering her on from home, along with her bearded dragon, Zuko.
